Little known facts about Makoto/Jupiter, and other miscellany:

Mokoto's sign is Sagittarius. Here's what most Sagittarians are like(or at least, what Mako-Chan is like):
Of course, as fitting her planet, Mako-chan's sign is Sagittarius.

You are gregarious and enthusiastic, and you expose high principles such as universal love and world peace. Happy-go- lucky, honest, cheerful and optimistic, at times you are restless, careless and extravagant. Your tolerance allows you to work well with all people, and you accept them for what they are. You are extroverted, and your bluntness and impatience can unknowingly hurt others who are more sensitive. You are fond of sports, the outdoors and travel. "Don't fence me in" could be your motto.
The Sun gives a bright, jovial, hopeful, generous and charitable nature. The native is self-reliant, enterprising, frank, out-spoken and not easily discouraged. Generally has a strong will and is sincere, honorable and what he says goes right to the mark. Also the native is prophetic and has psychic abilities.

Under the sign that symbolizes wisdom and the ever-evolving, you are an extrovert who is constantly searching. You have an innate understanding of the motivations of human existence. You are the philosophers, teachers, and the eternal students. Your personality is very direct. You are frank and to-the-point with your opinions. (And you do have opinions on all subjects.) In these, you can be the most liberal and the most stubborn at the same time.

You are enthusiastic about life, and you project optimism to people around you. Your (Gemini-like) restless temperament and impatience combined with (Aries-like) quick temper and impulsiveness, make you an unpredictable individual in everyday contact. You may be the most independent of all the signs. This is expressed in a variety of ways. Like the Gemini, your opposite sign, you are experience oriented, but in your case, the experience may take you on a trip around the world. Though an extrovert, you do not socialize for the sake of it. Being truly adventurous, you are ready to tackle anything exciting on the spur of the moment, side-stepping obligations and other binding circumstances. As a result, others may see you as rootless and elusive, but like the Cancer, you dance to your own tune, and in the end, you too have a way of coming out better than you were before. (A combination of Cancer Sun and Sagittarius Moon or Ascendant, or vice versa, can make an interesting water/fuel concoction: 'they made you, and then threw away the pattern'.)

Mentally, you are broad-minded, quick and intuitive. You are also a delightfully frank and open person. On the one hand your vision is very broad; your conceptualization excellent. On the other hand you are also good with detail, capable of easily grasping the essence of a problem. Like the Cancer, you too can be prophetic, not so much through vibes as through your rattrap mind and your ability to foresee the logical sequence of events. Best of all, an incurable optimist, you can not be defeated. No wonder that you feel so self-confident, for you are the sign of good fortune.

The way you use your mental powers professionally is entirely unpredictable. Unless there are several balancing influences, your restlessness and adventurous ways can persuade you to make drastic changes in life. (Here too you are like the Cancer.) The restlessness in you is expressed in two forms: 1) searching for greener pastures, and 2) desire to take on new mental and other challenges. Like the Aries, unless your career offers plenty of independence and freedom of action, you are likely to change positions frequently until you find the right one. This is further motivated by the fact that (like the Gemini) you become bored easily. Unless your position offers constant challenges, you will not stay. This is not as bad for you as for other signs, for you have a way of designing your projects. Most people need external structure around them to feel secure and stable. You do no In love, you are a combination of Gemini and Aries. (And it does not matter to you which as long as you get a large share of the spoils of life.) Since you do not like commitments until later in life, you will probably accumulate quite a few notches. Here too you are unpredictable. On the one hand, you can roam at the highest levels of human endeavors, on the other, (like the Scorpio) you can indulge in the lowest forms of desires. It is fortunate that sexual expression is not always your first priority. But once you decide to settle down, you have considerable capacity for love and affection towards your partner. (But your partner better recognize your need for lots of freedom. Possessiveness can be claustrophobic for you.)
Sagittarians are reputed to be the luckiest of all the symbols, somehow always managing to land on their feet. Although this can lead to unfortunate gambling streaks in some cases, Sagittarians manage to live a charmed and fortunate life.
The symbol of this sign is the Archer, its planetary ruler Jupiter. Sagittarius' element is fire, color purple(Hmm...why does she wear green then?!), and the flower narcissus. Its stone is the turquoise, lucky number nine, and lucky day Thursday.

Depending on how you choose to utilize the energies, you can be generous or wasteful, knowledgeable or opinionated, frank or tactless, experiencing life or roaming.

Green and Pink: Makoto's colors have a meaning:

Green personalities: People who love the color pink are very strong-willed and determined, easy-going and original, bubbly yet trustworthy and honest, high achievers yet capable of relaxing and enjoying the finer things in life. They work hard to improve your their and to surmount the obstacles that life has given them.

Green represents firmness and resistance to change. Green people long for attention but at the same time, are worried about failure.

They want to help every one. Green is the color of healing. These people are usually in some occupation which helps people because they make others feel at home easily. They are very motherlike and tend to take care of humans, animals and plants to feel good about themselves.

They tend to keep their thoughts secret, preferring to watch instead of participate. They can be great counselors beause they are excellent listeners but can easily be taken for granted.

If you're a green person, you can see more than one side to a situation without bias. You can make others feel at home by putting them at ease immediately. You're a peacemaker and want harmony in every one's life and balance in yours. You're fun, cheery, caring and can keep a secret. You only feel good about yourself, when you're helping others. You are a natural nurturer. Green people are also perceived as status-conscious, honest, possessive and generally look out for the good of the community and others. They provide stability. Does this sound like Mako or what?
Pink is the color of peace.

People who love the color pink usually are either in a blissful state or looking for one. Truly loving everyone, they try to see the best in others. If they don't find something good in a person, there has to be a very good explanation in the pink personalities mind as to why not.

Pinks see the world through rose colored glasses. "The truth of the matter is that it might be nice if we could all put those glasses on now and then. "

They are shy, very intelligent, hard working people who wish they were more a part of the mainstream but are frightened of moving too quickly. You try to make everyone happy.

Others notice their wonderful senses of humor, though the pink personality may not laugh aloud.

THE TRUTH BEHIND MAKOTO"S PAST:

What makes this seemingly careless junior high school girl, have such pain in her young eyes? What has gone on in this young girl's life?

In the manga (v 13) we find that Mako-chan lost her parents at an early age to an airplane accident. Because of that, she felt that she had to make herself strong -on the outside and try to on the inside- even though she is still hurting. She had to become her mother and father and it hasn't been easy. She was self-sufficient and alone since childhood and she has never had to rely on anyone. She learned karate to fend for herself (Naoko Takeuchi envisioned this character-not previously called Makoto- as a 17-year old member of a tough gang and a heavy smoker to boot. However, Naoko cut that out later on. Naoko also wanted to give her extra sensory perception (ESP) and she was supposed to be paired romantically with Nephrite. Instead, Jupiter killed Nephrite in her first appearance in the manga, so that obviously changed.)

She never got the love from her parents that other children got and she needs that love and encouragement more than any other person. Fortunately, she has a bunch of friends (the senshi) who are full of encouragement for the young and vulnerable Makoto. She calls the senshi her family and loves to cook for them, envisioning her old family and perhaps the family that she will have when she gets married. Above all, she hates to be alone.

Mako is always very attentive when listening to her friends' problems. All her friends know that she is the one to go to when good counsel and a shoulder to cry on are needed. Still, I can't help but wonder who Mako would turn to. In the manga there is Asanuma and in the anime, Shinozaki Ken, but neither are seen very often. So who can Mako really turn to with her problems? I think that she tends to keep them inside her. She tries to be strong. I wonder if she feels lonely because of this.

In Mako's first appearance in the anime, Motoki was possessed with the Ghost Bride and was trying to seduce Makoto. When she found out that it was only the Ghost Bride telling him what to do, she was crestfallen that he wasn't really interested in her. Mako-chan is a very sensitive soul and she needs to be loved and shown love.

Because her parents died in a plane crash, she has been afriad of planes. This seems to be normal for very young girls but as a junior high girl, it seems that she should be more....over it. You see, tragedies happening to Mako have a very strong and often permanent effect upon her. Her tragedies shape her personality and consequently, her life. For instance, the loss of her sempai was a huge tragedy in this young girl's life. For such a romantic, it pained her deeply and gave a blow to her emotional self. Perhaps because of this loss, she started to doubt her femininity- which is at constant check throughout what we see of her life. This is why she started cooking (which also goes with the above- taking care of herself but is also the stereotyped thing that mothers and women do). She tries to disguise her muscular build in "extra-feminine" clothing as well. She is graceful in iceskating and ballroom dancing and someday she will realize just how ladylike she really is.

I also think that she wants to make her parents (up there) proud and I think that she's doing a great job at that. The Kinos must be beaming.
